Paras joululahja

Paras ystävä antoi parhaan lahjan: ruma kopio Taistelevista metsoista!!! Mulla on jo yks ennestään. Kerään vielä muutaman lisää, niin saan seinällisen metsoilua.

This year I did not have much time and energy for Christmas gifts. I gave a pacifier for my son and a bottle of beer for my boyfriend. My best friend gave me a ugly replica of a famous Finnish painting with angry birds. I love it! I'm gonna hang it on my wall as soon as I have a bigger apartment with more walls.

Splits Summer Trip to Italy

Last summer we went to Italy to play two gigs with The Splits. First gig was at Bikini Kill Festival, and the second one was a outdoor gig somewhere in the countryside, on an outdoor venue by the vineyard. Here's some pics from the trip:

At the moment, The Splits are touring UK but I am here in freezing cold Finland! I'm really sad I couldn't go with my band, but they have a cool replacement drummer (Pave from Death Laser) and I have super good reason for not going - I'll tell you more about that soon. Torkkelinmäellä oli laitettu eri vinkeitä linnunpönttöjä puuhun

Kotiharjun Saunan läheisyydessä olevan muurin kolossa oli kaksi pientä kissaa

 / and a cat statuette someone had left on a stonewall 

Hakaniemen torilla oli joulukuusi, josta oli tippunut kävykäs oksanpätkä. Otin sen mukaan ja liimasin kotona sille irtosilmät ja suun, ja laitoin ovikoristeeksi. 

/ I also found a small piece of nature, and hung it on my front door.

Kahvikallo / Coffee Skull

Eilen oli mun synttärit. Ja sain lahjan, jota olin toivonut jo vuosikymmeniä! Nimittäin pääkallomukin, samanlaisen, kuin millainen oli lapsuuden suosikkikirjassa!

Yesterday was my birthday, and I got a skull mug from my boyfriend. (Identical to one that was pictured in my favourite children's book, The Witch's Handbook by Malcolm Bird.) I've been wanting one since I was 10 years old! Now I'm 33. So, kids: don't be disappointed if you do not get what you want straight away, things just sometimes take a little time!

Hyvää isänpäivää!

Kävin eilen postissa, jossa oli hyllyssä valikoima erilaisia isänpäiväkortteja. Isät kuvattu synkin värein, selkä katsojaan päin. En tiedä että onko vika omassa päässä vai korteissa, mutta jotenkin nää onmun mielestä paitsi rumia mutta myös ahdistavia. Toi yksi, missä ollaan metsässä, näyttää sille että se isä on menossa viemään sen lapsen tonne metsään ja aikoo jättää sen sinne. Ja toi alimmainen ukko näyttää ihan jollekin puukkotappelun jälkeen leuhkivalle metsäläiselle. Ja miten tuo veden äärellä oleminen liittyy isänpäivään, onko se joku perinne että mennään tuijottamaan vettä?

It's Fathers Day this Sunday here in Finland. The postcards seem to have a weird theme of murky colours and a father that has turned his back and is in front of a water. Creepy images, if you ask me!

Löysin aamulla lapun metrosta. Jos olisin yhtään seikkailunhaluinen ihminen, olisin mennyt Takomotien pyysäkkylle ja katsonut mitä sitten tapahtuu. Jos ei mitään olis tapahtunut, olisin voinut kävellä lähimmälle kiskalle ja lotota noilla numeroilla. Mutta olin tylsä ihminen ja menin vaan töihin. / On my way to work I found a piece of paper. It was filled with numbers of buses that could take me to a place I'd never visited! But I was boring person, not ready for an adventure and went to work instead.

Rautatieaseman portaat oli laitettu kivan näköisiksi. Ennen nuo portaat oli rumat ja tylsät, nyt ne on mitä mainioimmat rappuset! / The horribly boring stairs of Helsinki railway station had changed into wonderfully neat stairs of Helsinki railway station.

The Seekrets - Surfing Cop

Kuvattiin tosiaan tossa pari viikkoa sitten musavideo Seekretsille. Oltiin Teemun ja lelujen kanssa pari tuntia Töölönlahden rannalla. Heiluteltiin niitä, ja kuvattiin kännykällä. Jälkeenpäin tajuttiin, että koska kännykkä on niin pieni, kukaan muu rannalla-olija ei varmaan tajunnut että me kuvataan niitä leluja, ihmiset varmaan vaan luuli että ollaan jotain outoja kolmekymppisiä jotka tulee tuntikausiksi leikkimään lelujensa kans rantsuun.

The ultra-awesome poster is made by my super cool boyfriend Teemu, who also plays bass in the kick-ass band First Times, who are also playing at Tavastia club that night!!!! Not enough exclamation marks for all this!!!!
